ENERGY, THE AMBULANCE UNIFORM BY RED4LIFE
This review was realized by Matteo Pancotti: “I am a volunteer for the Italian Red Cross, and I am involved both in Pre-hospital services and Civil Protection operations. The shifts I turned out to be a good test for Energy, the Red4Life uniform with the reinforced inserts, waterproof and biological liquids resistant”.
Energy, by Red4Life, is a uniform suitable for ambulance service operations. It is not meant for hard Civil Protection activities, because it does not have Cordura reinforcements, but I feel it like the right uniform for mixed interventions.
The black reinforced inserts are made of a comfortable bi-elastic fabric. The feeling of lightness that the mesh gives is similar in many uniforms. But this sensation is particularly evident with the Energy by Red4Life: it can ensure an incredible comfort during summer. When the climate is hot, the need for non-oppressive but high visibility garment is essential. The most interesting factor about Energy is definitely the comfort. Abundant sizes, wrist bands and hinges extraordinarily comfortable and durable. It is easy to wear and always gives a feeling of satisfaction.
Short description of the ambulance uniform
The refractive components seem to behave well, thanks to the smart expedient of not realizing the uniform bands, but to apply them segmented. This system does not create strains, reductions, cuts and cracks in the area of high reflectance.
The most crucial peculiarity, however, concerns the usable space. The pockets are huge and do not have strange shapes that sometimes make them hardly usable. They are not even in unattainable positions.
These pockets simply do their job well. They contain tools, a lot of tools. Probably, made the uniform with an elastic fabric would have made the pockets even more capacious, but all in all, it is fine. Considering that pockets on the jacket are double pockets, that is to say, they have superior access (which I use to store some main objects) and side access (where I put my personal stuff, like mobile phone and keys). Both of them open on an independent compartment. About the finishes, I have to note my extremely positive sensation. Not all the producers made the same attention to these aspects.
Energy by Red4Life inserts a great idea on the jacket, putting two chest pockets near the main zipper. I must also notify the regulation systems of the measures: they are located on the wrists, in a velcro-shaped slot, and on the ankles, as an adjustable elastic band. I really appreciate the system that hides the excess part, so that it won’t pop out of the trousers. Personally, I found this uniform very comfortable, but the sizes wear a little abundant.
- QUALITY | Reasonable. With some little improvement can be more attractive. 3/5
- COMFORT | Comfortable even if it is not completely elastic. Sizes dress abundantly. 3,5/5
- RESISTANCE | Reinforcements could be a little more robust, but critical parts like joints and zips are good. 3,5/5
- DESIGN | Esthetically pleasant. Nothing extremely stylish, however, some esthetical and functional parts make it pleasant. 4/5
