Train crashes into station platform in Buenos Aires: trapped passengers saved by rescue teams
The scene was just like in 2012, but luckily the death toll was not repeated. In Buenos Aires another accident occurred involving a commuter train in Once station, just like back in 2012, when 51 people lost their lives. This time the crash, in which the train came to a halt when it crashed into the platform, resulted in dozens of injured persons, who were promptly treated and evacuated using well-tested rescue procedures. Many suffered lesions, some had been hit by broken glass from the train windows, everyone was suffering from shock, made worse by having been trapped in the carriage, with the emergency exits not working. Ambulances and helicopters shuttled casualties to nearby hospitals.
