The partnership between the Italian Red Cross of La Spezia and La Spezia Calcio is an example of how sport and volunteering can work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all. This synergy, renewed also for the current season, sees a team of more than one hundred CRI volunteers, highly qualified and motivated, committed to provide health care during the games at the stadium “Alberto Picco” and the sports center “Ferdeghini”.
An impeccable organization
Behind every game lies a complex and meticulous organization. Ambulances equipped with the latest medical technologies, foot rescue teams ready to intervene in every sector of the stadium and a mobile resuscitation center, constitute a system of emergency intervention able to cope with any eventuality. Every CRI volunteer, from doctors to nurses to first responders, is constantly updated on the latest first aid techniques and standard operating procedures.
Beyond first aid
The Red Cross’ commitment goes far beyond managing emergencies on the ground. The IRC volunteers also play a key role in preventing injuries, through awareness-raising and training activities for both athletes and spectators. They also work with stadium staff to ensure that the environment is safe and welcoming for everyone.
