I work in emergency medical service as a volunteer, with competence similar to the European EMT. I generally cover night shifts in urban areas, so I need extremely safe shoes because it is not always easy seeing where your feet are on. I tried Mekap Loder S3 for three weeks in different types of operations.
My impressions with Mekap Loder S3 on
I wore them in some intervention with the snow and I got right. Mekap Loder safety shoes have strong points that cannot be ignored, even if they belong to an average market segment. First of all – fundamental characteristic for a healthcare practitioner – they keep feet warm. This model is well padded with BASF artificial, antistatic and transpired material. The external material is made of leather and it turns out to be very neutral and clean.
The sole is very thick and there are steel rings for shoelaces. A little bit vintage touch, but with a great advantage: there is no tongue, so the shoe can be always easily and well closed on the ankle. The toe cap is the classic steel cap, like the intermediate sole. The sole shape has a great grip on slimy surfaces, despite what it could be thought, since the large battenburg. For a woman, the feet flat is a little bit large and it doesn’t wrap the feet tightly. Anyway, the cap turns out to be linked in the correct way. To wear them quickly, it would be great the presence of a zip. It is an important characteristic, especially during night shifts. Another Loder S3 model has the anterior closure with straps, and it can be a better solution for ambulance working environments. Wear safety shoes quickly and go, without tying laces up is important in case of emergency medical calls. An advantage is the extremely efficient and easy washing of the shoes. They are extremely easy to clean with water and specific detergent.
