Germany, COVID-19 did not stop the FLORIAN in Dresden: 10 thousand visitors for the fire-fighting expo

Dresden’s FLORIAN forerunner of a return to “live” trade fairs? We will find out in the medium to long term. Surely 10 thousand visitors for the three days dedicated to the world of firefighters can be considered a great success, in this era so marked by the pandemic of COVID-19.

FLORIAN 2020, IN DRESDEN STRICT RULES BUT 10 THOUSAND VISITORS: HERE’S HOW THEY DID IT

The director of the Ortec trade fair Roland Zwerenz is understandably satisfied with the courageous and directional approach taken at the many other trade fairs in the emergency and rescue sector: “This is a very good result under the current circumstances.

The number of visitors is an important signal for trade fairs in the coronavirus era”.

Exhibitors at FLORIAN 2020 were also satisfied, and it has to be understood: the pandemic has literally paralyzed the accounting and trading activities among market players around the world, and there is a serious concern in the production sector for a future that looks complex and difficult to read.

Organizing international trade fairs means planning one year for the next, the closures of individual regions of the world, and the impossibility of planning trips and trips seriously jeopardizes that kind of planning.

FLORIAN 2020, AROUND 200 EXHIBITORS

Florian 2020, on the other hand, came to an end without a hitch or special problems: around 200 exhibitors from 8 countries came to Dresden from 8 to 10 October.

This enabled many market leaders to present their latest vehicles, revolving ladders, fire extinguishing and extinguishing systems, protective clothing, service equipment, fire trucks and so on in a world premiere.

With a focus on innovative products such as fire fighting robots and fire drones.

As correctly pointed out by the organizers of FLORIAN 2020, the success of the fair is also due to its geographical location: Saxony had coronavirus behavior that justified the decision to be the first to reopen at fairs and congresses.

As if to say that the economic recovery of a territory follows the careful and virtuous behavior of its citizens.

At the opening of the fair, the office head Thomas Rechentin of the Saxon Ministry of the Interior stressed: “The Florian fair is a good platform for all emergency services to learn about the technologies of the future in the areas of firefighters, rescue services and civil protection.

At the expo FLORIAN, (SMI) presented to the visitors of the fair and future users the model of the 2nd lot of the supply of tool trolleys and its equipment.

At the joint stand with the SMI, the fire brigade and the state school for disaster control in Saxony were also presented, and a technical assistance symposium was held.

In addition, employees of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg presented the latest developments of the fire brigade app “FwA 16/2”.

The new Hazard Defense Forum of the State Fire Brigade Association of Saxony eV, dedicated to current topics such as fighting vegetation fires, also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences.

Andreas Rümpel, President of the State Fire Service Association of Saxony eV, concludes: “The FLORIAN 2020 trade fair in Dresden from 8 to 10 October was an event in the midst of a pandemic that showed us how threatening disasters are even in a world with high scientific standards.

The next FLORIAN will take place from 7 to 9 October 2021 in Dresden.
