Kidney semiotics: Glenard's Manoeuvre
The Glenard manoeuvre (or technique) is used in medical semeiotics to perform palpation of the kidneys
How the Glenard manoeuvre is performed
The hands are placed as in Guyon’s method, but the hand is placed contralaterally to the kidney (left hand for the right kidney) with the thumb limiting renal displacement, which is palpated between one hand and the thumb; preferable on children and/or longilinear adults.
