Stephen Sutton, inspirational cancer charity fundraiser, dies

Stephen Sutton, the teenager who raised more than £3.2m for the Teenage Cancer Trust, has died in hospital on May, 14th.

“My heart is bursting with pride – write on the Stephen Facebook Profile his mom – but breaking with pain for my courageous, selfless, inspirational son who passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 14th May. The ongoing support and outpouring of love for Stephen will help greatly at this difficult time, in the same way as it helped Stephen throughout his journey. We all know he will never be forgotten, his spirit will live on, in all that he achieved and shared with so many”.
Yesterday, Stephen’s family, write this message: “Unfortunately in the last 24 hours Stephen’s condition has deteriorated to where he can no longer communicate through this page himself. Unfortunately the breathlessness which had him re-admitted to hospital is due to the regrowth of tumours which are blocking his airways, and not just due to infection as we had all been hoping”.

“We will update you on our plans for Stephen’s legacy as soon as we can – write the Tenaage Cancer Trust -. There’s no rule book on how to manage grief or the death of a person you know or have connected with. There’s no right or wrong way to feel and everyone will react differently. There are some organisations who offer support at times of bereavement and loss”.

#StephensStory is one of the most insiprational story, of a boy who will be missed by so many. When he noticed his cancer, he managed to raise over £3 milion for cancer charities. But because he has gone, it doesn’t mean we have to stop donating.
