New intervention for Rescue Drones Network OdV
On Tuesday, May 7th, Rescue Drones Network OdV carried out a particularly delicate operation involving the city of Viterbo
Following the discovery of a World War II explosive device weighing nearly 2000 kg, local authorities immediately took action.
In this context, our Association was called upon to conduct surveillance and ensure territorial security using our drones and expertise.
Specifically, 9 vehicles were deployed, each with a dedicated team, to support the Viterbo Police Headquarters in safeguarding the territory, order, and public safety during the evacuation of much of the city to ensure the safe disposal of the explosive device.
The operation was carefully planned, leveraging our know-how to ensure compliance with both aerial and ground regulations, taking into account the peculiarities of the Viterbo territory.
Weather conditions were momentarily unfavorable, but the capabilities of some of our vehicles allowed flight activities to continue.
We extend our gratitude to all members of the Association, who came from different parts of Italy, to our President, and especially to the personnel of the Viterbo Police Headquarters and all supporting authorities. It is thanks to them that we were able to successfully carry out this extremely delicate operational mission.
