North Fire Reveals New Factory with Headquarters in Calder Valley
North Fire Engineering Unveils Advanced Manufacturing Hub in Mytholmroyd, Boosting UK’s Firefighting Vehicle Production
North Fire Engineering, a manufacturer of firefighting vehicles, unveiled its new manufacturing facility in Mytholmroyd, Calder Valley, which opened during the Christmas season.
Following the announcement in late 2023 of the acquisition of Venari Group’s firefighting division by industry veteran Oliver North and its subsequent transformation into North Fire, the team has now unveiled the inaugurated factory over the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The manufacturer will immediately begin production of firefighting vehicles, bringing valuable capacity and competition to the UK emergency vehicle manufacturing landscape.
Commenting on the presentation, North Fire founder and CEO Oliver North said, “We are absolutely thrilled to highlight our hard work over the past few months in completing the acquisition, rebranding, and setting up our new long-term home. The team that accompanied me in the acquisition has supported me throughout our journey in the industry over the past 17 years. Every single learning from our many successes during this time will be leveraged in this beautiful new factory: unrivaled engineering, manufactured with speed.”
The 12,000-square-foot facility is located in the village of Calder Valley, Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire. The opening of the new factory is intended to generate continued employment and income for the local area by utilizing local supply chains in a strong existing business community.
North Fire is a well-known name in fire and rescue services in the UK, having blazed a trail in the firefighting market between 2008 and 2014 before being taken over by a large fire vehicle manufacturer.
Oliver North said, “When I acquired and separated Venari’s firefighting division from the Group, we actually needed a new brand. Some of the team members proposed bringing back a variant of North Fire, which we all thought was perfect. The name, which represents all of us, has genuine and serious relevance as a true innovator and passionate servant of an industry we love.”
North Fire’s workshop leader Rory Wilde has worked alongside founder and general manager Oliver North since 2008. Mr. Wilde added, “Since our inception in the fire and rescue vehicle market in 2008, we have always strived to be the best, and we can say that at every stage so far we have precisely achieved that goal, continuing to learn and enjoying every step of the way.”
“The activation of North Fire Engineering allows us to focus exclusively on our specialty: fire and rescue technology, without distractions from other areas. We have been able to select the best and most passionate skilled workers in the industry, and our new state-of-the-art factory allows us to do so to the highest possible standards.”
