8 May, Red Cross warehouse and mobile hospital damaged in Ukraine
As a result of the bombing, warehouses with Ukrainian Red Cross humanitarian aid were burnt down in Odessa and a mobile hospital was damaged in Mykolaiv
On 8 May 2023, a 1,000 square metre warehouse of the Odessa Regional Organisation of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine was destroyed following a missile attack on Odessa
The fire completely destroyed the humanitarian aid that was in the warehouse.
Currently, the delivery of humanitarian aid and the activities of some PROGETTI of the Odessa regional organisation of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine are suspended.
The mobile hospital of the Mykolaiv regional organisation of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine was also damaged as a result of the missile attack in the Mykolaiv region on 7 May 2023.
As a result of the impact, some of the medical equipment, technical means and furniture present became unusable for further use.
Settlement of the consequences of the bombing is currently underway, after which the hospital will function in its usual manner, but in another location.
Employees and volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross were not injured
The population, humanitarian organisations, hospitals are not targets!
Attacks on employees and institutions of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement are a serious violation of international humanitarian law and are classified as war crimes!
Note that as of 24 February 2022, 25 buildings (offices, warehouses, bases) of the Ukrainian Red Cross have already been damaged or completely destroyed!
