This is an example of how a simple email message can be the right tool to let even the hardest and most distant politicians act and react; we are speaking of those who, for their own proper consensus strategy, are beating the hell out of the Syrian refugees who are trapped between Hungarian and Serbian borders. From the efforts of an Italian citizen named Nicola Galli, a plea to stop violence now is spreading among social networks.

Hungarian Prime Minister is asked to stop any violence against the refugees (especially children), to punish those who are responsible of cruel acts, to end discriminating and inhuman policies, in one word to act.

Dear Prime Minister,

My name is [NAME SURNAME] and I am an Italian citizen who believes it is just and due to write you, as responsible for the government of your country, to express my firm contrariness and worry for what I see happening in and around the Hungarian borders.

It is a moment of dramatic crisis throughout the whole European continent and for the countries facing the Mediterranean Sea, people migration from the East are getting bigger and bigger because of the wars and of the violence erupting there as consequences of old and new colonialisms.

Masses of people escaping death and destruction are seeking a future of serenity and everyday prosperity elsewhere, in a world than can be home for everyone, in a continent that has represented (in its millenarian history) a place where human rights and human person are respected and seen as indispensable and unavoidable values, base of a free and pacific way of life.

What is taking place right now in front of us goes against the proper roots of the European and Europeanist project that twenty-eight countries, among which is Hungary too, has subscribed and accepted to make real. Scenes of helpless people left without food and water, under terrible hygienic conditions, victims of bullying by the police are flooding worldwide in every home, making it plain and clear how Hungarian authorities are making themselves guilty of inhuman and criminal acts agains men, women and especially children. It is recent news the use of stinging sprays against a group of people asking for help, among which some children too.

I write this letter to you Mr. Prime Minister and to all those who are responsible to express my strong contrariety and firmest worry, as human being and as European citizen caring for humanity and civilization values, against the crimes that are blood-staining the European flag, the Hungarian flag and the lives of thousands of people guilty only of desiring a safer and pacific life, away of suffering and misery.

Therefore, I formally ask you to:

• stop immediately any hostile act against refugees and especially children;
• promote and create (with the help of EU authorities) a humanitarian corridor/path to allow the refugees to reach the Hungarian borders in a safe and protected way;
• assist and cure the weakest and poorest among the refugees;
• seek, find, identify, pursue, punish all the members of any police corp who made him/herself responsible of cruel and inhuman treatment to the refugees.

From my side, I am giving the widest resonance to this letter sending it in copy to Italian and EU authorities too; I am sending it to all my contact in Italy and abroad, asking to do the same. I will also speak to the highest number of people to let the Hungarian situation be known. We all have to know and react letting our voice be heard.

I wish to see a quick change in the policy towards refugees and the coming back to real solidarity and respect, timeless and borderless values. Thank you for your time and cooperation.

E’ un momento di grande crisi per tutto il continente europeo e per le nazioni gravitanti sul Mar Mediterraneo, i flussi migratori dall’Oriente si stanno ingrossando a causa delle guerre e della violenza che imperversa come conseguenza di vecchi e nuovi colonialismi.

Le masse di civili in fuga da morte e distruzione cercano altrove un futuro fatto di serenità e quotidiana prosperità, in un mondo che sia casa di tutti, in un continente che ha rappresentato (nella sua millenaria storia) un luogo dove la difesa dei diritti dell’uomo ed il rispetto della persona umana sono valori irrinunciabili ed inabrogabili, fondamento del vivere pacifico e solidale.

Quanto è sotto gli occhi di tutti contraddice le radici stesse della visione europea ed europeista alla quale ventotto nazioni, tra cui l’Ungheria, aderiscono. Immagini di civili indifesi lasciati senza acqua e senza cibo, in condizioni igieniche spaventose, vittime di angherie da parte delle forze dell’ordine inondano le case di tutto il mondo rendendo palese come le autorità ungheresi si stiano rendendo colpevoli di comportamenti disumani e criminali contro uomini, donne e soprattutto bambini. E’ notizia recente l’uso di spray urticanti contro alcuni migranti imploranti aiuto, tra i quali alcuni bambini.

Le scrivo quindi per esprimere a Lei ed a tutti quelli come Lei in posizioni decisionali la mia preoccupazione e la mia forte contrarietà, in quanto essere umano e cittadino europeo cui stanno cari i valori di umanità, civiltà e rispetto del diritto, verso i crimini che stanno macchiando di sangue e dolore la bandiera europea, la bandiera ungherese e la vita di migliaia di persone colpevoli solo di chiedere una vita pacifica ed un futuro al sicuro dalla sofferenza e dalla miseria.

Le chiedo quindi formalmente di:

• cessare ogni atto ostile verso ogni richiedente asilo e soprattutto verso i bambini;
• promuovere e creare (con il concerto delle autorità comunitarie) un corridoio umanitario per permettere ai profughi il raggiungimento dei confini nazionali ungheresi ed il loro attraversamento incolumi e protetti;
• assistere e curare i più deboli e bisognosi;
• individuare, processare e punire tutti i membri di qualunque corpo di polizia resosi responsabile di comportamenti crudeli ed inumani.

Per parte mia, darò massima diffusione a questa lettera inviandola in copia alle autorità italiane, invitando il più ampio numero di persone a copiarla e diffonderla, rendendo noto a quanti più possibile quanto sta succedendo entro i confini ungheresi; l’opinione pubblica può e deve sapere per poter agire e far sentire la propria voce.

Mi auguro di vedere presto un repentino cambiamento della situazione ed un ritorno ad una politica di rispetto e comprensione, valori senza confini e senza tempo.
