Russia: a delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies visited EMERCOM
Emergencies, IFRC Red Cross and EMERCOM summit in Russia
On December 6, Acting Head of EMERCOM of Russia Alexander Chupriyan and President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Francesco Rocca discussed cooperation issues.
As Alexander Chupriyan noted, the Federation is a reliable partner, which in its activities is guided exclusively by humanitarian principles, which greatly impresses the mission of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
As an example, interaction with the Center for Emergency Psychological Aid.
It consists in the participation of our psychologists both as listeners and as consultants in seminars, trainings, round tables organized by the Federation.
Such a mutual exchange of experience and information on the provision of psychosocial support to the affected population is relevant for both parties.
From the cooperation of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent and EMERCOM a better intervention in emergencies
Alexander Chupriyan confirmed his readiness to continue cooperation with the Federation in terms of the exchange of operational information to increase the effectiveness of emergency humanitarian response, practical knowledge and methods on the issues of humanitarian operations.
And also – the organization of joint events to improve the qualifications of employees on the basis of educational institutions of both organizations.
The parties also touched upon the issues of reforming and modernizing the Russian Red Cross.
It is planned that in the near future optimal decisions will be made to improve the activities of the Russian Red Cross.
