The most expensive search and rescue action in Germany - VIDEO

Seven days of attempts were made by emergency services to rescue a German explorer who spent nearly a week 1000 metres underground stuck in a cave underneath the mountains between Germany and Austria. The explorer, Johann Westhauser was one of the team who discovered the Riesending cave system in 1995 and regularly explored it to discover its extremities. Emergency services spent 7 days to rescue a German explorer injoured during an underground stuck in a cave underneath the mountains between Germany and Austria. Two-hundred volunteers from across the region assisted in the operation.
