Ukraine, from Italy and Germany six ambulances for Rivne: this is how they will be used / VIDEO
War in Ukraine, philanthropists donated six ambulances from Italy and Germany to Rivne
Ambulances donated to Rivne: these are from German and Italian organisations, as well as one of Ukraine’s mobile operators
One car will be handed over to the Armed Forces, the rest will remain in the regional centre.
Pavlo Yatsyuk, the chief paramedic of the Rivne Regional Emergency Medical Centre, told Public that he was in one of the six ambulances
“The cabin has everything needed to help the patient: a defibrillator, cardiograph, vacuum mattress and more,” he said.
“We are always short of ambulances, because the ones in service need to be repaired, so we always need them,” said the paramedic manager.
One ambulance was donated by a Ukrainian mobile operator.
Another rescue vehicle was donated by German philanthropists.
Another four are an Italian charity.
“After the outbreak of this large-scale war, we started communicating with Italy, where my friend founded the SERMIG Charitable Foundation, which started donating food, medicine and various equipment.
It is for our community,’ said Rivne City Council Secretary Viktor Shakirzyan.
One of the Italian philanthropists’ cars will be handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to OVA chief Vitaly Koval, it will be repainted before departure.
Another car will work on the base of the Rivne Regional Anticancer Centre.
“We have no ambulances and this machine is badly needed.
We are now communicating with all institutions, sometimes a seriously ill patient needs to be transported from one hospital to another.
This requires special transport, so these cars are very timely,” said the centre’s chief cancer doctor Hryhoriy Maksymyak.
Another ambulance was transferred to Rivne Central City Hospital.
Three ambulances will remain at the regional emergency care centre.
