Ukraine: Khmelnytsky City Hospital receives two ambulances from Poland
Khmelnytsky City Hospital has received two ambulances. The director of the medical institute Valery Garbuzyuk spoke about it to Public
One of them was purchased by doctors from Khmelnytsky with money raised by volunteers and the other by colleagues from the twin city of Cekhanov, Poland
One of the two ambulances received, a new ambulance, will be used for emergency relief by the hospital itself, hospital director Valery Garbuzyuk said.
The other one will be shared by various institutions for different medical needs.
Valery Garbuzyuk said that the ambulance, donated by colleagues in Cekhanov, Poland, “is designed to transport patients in a critical condition over long distances: we will use it for purposes such as transporting patients to Kiev for treatment”.
Valery Grabuzyuk said that Khmelnytsky Hospital would not be able to purchase ambulances on its own:
“If we bought such an ambulance, it would cost about 4-5 million hryvnias.
A less well-equipped ambulance is, of course, cheaper, about 1.5-2 million hryvnia”.
Valery Garbuzyuk pointed out that the hospital now has only two old ambulances and the new cars received are the first in 15 years.
