Russia: bears rescued by helicopter from floods. Video
Over 20,000 people have been affected by floods in Russia in the Blagoveshensk region, in the far eastern part of the country. Flood rescue operations have also involved two brown bears from the local zoo, which had to be evacuated by helicopter. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the situation is stabilising rapidly and water levels are falling. The army was also deployed to help families affected by the floods.
