Advanced Training for Security and Civil Protection Professionals: Registrations Open Until November 8, 2024

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is launching a new Master’s program in Crisis & Disaster Management, led by Professor Marco Lombardi. This interdisciplinary program aims to provide qualifications and professional recognition in the field of Civil Protection, healthcare, and specific skills for Local and State Police Forces, Military personnel on active duty, officials and employees of the Public Administration, and civilian and Interior Ministry offices. Additionally, the Master’s program offers the necessary skills for certification of personnel in charge of corporate security in Italy (Security Manager) and abroad (Travel Security Manager).

Target Audience

The course is aimed at first-level graduates who wish to integrate and apply useful and innovative skills to their professional profiles, coming from political-social, managerial, socio-health, and scientific disciplines. The Master’s program is particularly suitable for operators in the Security, Protection, and Civil Defense System, offering economic benefits equal to 50% of the registration fee for these categories.

The educational initiative also targets Security professionals and those working in the Travel Security sector, allowing them to obtain certification at various levels based on professional experience and qualifications. Participation also enables enrollment for military personnel, as it is considered to be of “military interest.”

Duration and Content

The Master’s program, with a total duration of 1500 hours equivalent to 60 ECTS credits, is structured into four main teaching areas:

1. Socio-healthcare area, within the context of Emergency/Urgency and large-scale emergencies.
2. Civil protection area, focusing on the management and functions of Public Administration and inter-agency operators.
3. Risk and crisis communication area, including the study and prevention of incidents, including malicious ones.
4. Safety and security area in Public Administration and inter-company security management.

Classes will be held from November 2024 to November 2025, predominantly online on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with some sessions on Sundays and evenings. The program also includes remote self-assessment tests and checks, with the possibility to review the lessons.

Practical internships, stage placements, and workshops for 400 hours are planned in collaboration with:
