Saved from a heart attack during the filming of Helicopter Heroes
A normal working day at Wakefield’s Yorkshire Ambulance Service, in the UK, with all staff carrying out their usual duties, while BBC television cameras spied on them for the television series “Helicopter Heroes“, a documentary on life and emergency procedures in this critical Yorkshire station.
Chris Solomons, medical dispatcher for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, clocked on at 7am and immediately realised he didn’t feel too well. What is incredible is that, in full view of his colleagues and the film crew, Chris’ situation deteriorated rapidly and, due to the heart attack he was suffering, he lost consciousness. His colleagues immediately put into practice the proper resuscitation procedures, and the incredible film of the scene can be viewed in the video below.
For Chris, who was lucky to be in the right place at the right time, it turned out to be nothing more than a huge fright.
